Christmas Ham (or for a good ham
anytime!) A full bone in shank ham or picnic ham.
Follow cooking time on the package (usually 20 minutes per pound
at 300°, although I've cooked it before at 15 minutes per pound
at 350 in order to get done faster).
The last 20 minutes baste the ham with a
mixture of juices from the pan, brown sugar, honey (or pancake
syrup if you don't have honey), and a bit of pineapple or orange
juice if you have it.

TIP: Ordinary soft bristled paint brushes
make very good basting brushes and also come in useful when
decorating cookies and cakes. A
good set of brushes will really get you into the "art"
of cooking! I have three sizes, a 1", a 2" and a
#8 watercolor brush.
